Clean Slate - Mark The Time 

One in three Americans have a criminal record, affecting their ability to get housing, education and employment. Clean Slate, a national coalition aiming to push legislation that would seal conviction records, wanted to increase public support for a new law that would rebuild their lives.

 

Mark The Time highlights the hidden life sentences that incarcerated people face long after they've been released from prison. Using iconic prison tally marks, formerly incarcerated Zaki Smith illustrated the lifetime of injustice he has suffered due to his conviction record.​ This work helped 5 states to pass the Clean Slate act.
